Alita: Battle Angel (2019)

On February 14, 2019 Alita: Battle Angel (2019) will premier. The film comes from visionary filmmakers James Cameron (Avatar) and Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) and Alita: Battle Angel, is an epic adventure of hope and empowerment, based upon the Manga graphic novel series by Yukito Kishiro. The film sees the perfect marriage of CGI and practical action and Rosa Salazar, who plays the cybernetic character, Alita, truly brings the character to life in and emotional performance that will stick with you.

Rosa Salazar worked on her martial arts skills with Ron Balicki and Diana Lee Inosanto so we can expect to see the Jeet Kune Do blend of Jun Fan, Kali, and maybe a bit of Shooto, as Balicki was a professional Shoot Wrestler in Japan. Add martial artists, Mickey Facchinello as Salazars stunt double and know you will see some great fight action scenes in Alita: Battle Angel (2019).

Alita: Battle Angel (2019) is about Alita (Rosa Salazar) who awakens in a future world she does not recognize with no memory of who she is. She is taken in by Ido (Christoph Waltz), a compassionate cyberphysician who realizes that somewhere in this abandoned cyborg core is the heart and soul of a young woman with an extraordinary past.

As Alita learns to navigate her new life and the treacherous streets of Iron City, Ido tries to shield her from her mysterious history while her street-smart new friend Hugo (Keean Johnson) offers instead to help trigger her memories. But it is only when the deadly and corrupt forces that run the city, headed by Vector (Mahershala Ali), come after Ido and Alita that she discovers a clue to her past – she has unique fighting abilities ingrained in her that those in power will stop at nothing to control. If she can stay out of their grasp, she could be the key to saving her friends, her family and the world she’s grown to love.
