Darren Leung was born in Canada and raised in the United States. He was educated and employed as an engineer, but having learned Wing Chun Kung Fu from his father, Master Duncan Leung, Darren began working on several projects in China. This would eventually lead him to being his father’s specific style of Wing Chun to train Tony Leung and other cast and stunt members for Wong Kar-Wai’s epic film The Grandmaster (2013). He collaborated again with Yuen Woo Ping in choreographing Ip Man 3 (2015), as well as its direct sequel, Ip Man 4. He is also an accomplished Chinese-to-English translator.
