Jon Valera

Jon Valera is a martial artist, actor, stuntman, fight coordinator and fight choreographer. He was born on October 2, 1975 in Roanoke, Virginia. His parents called him Jonathan Justin Valera.

Jon Valera is known for his work on Aquaman (2018), Black Panther (2018),  Atomic Blonde (2017), Thor: Ragnarok (2017) and John Wick (2014).

in 1984, at the age of 8, Jon began his martial arts training in Freestyle Karate. He has since trained in Tae Kwon Do, Aikido, Kempo and Kickboxing.

Jon Valera began competing in martial arts tournaments in 1988, at the age of 12 and he was soon traveling the tournament circuit. In his second year of competition he earned the number one title, dominating the junior division in forms, weapons and sparring.

In his career Jon Valera won numerous top competitions. He was the 1995 Number One Korean Forms Champion, the 1996 Otomix World Forms Champion, the 1997 ISKA World Forms and Weapons Champion, the US WAKO World Team Member, Member Team Paul Mitchell, and the 1998 ISKA World Forms and Weapons Champion.

Jon Valera is currently a member of several stunt service teams.

Beside his martial arts skills, Jon dominated the Salem High School tennis team from 1990 to 1994, especially as one of the “Asian Invasion” doubles team. Jon graduated from Salem High School in Salem, VA in 1994.
