Ip Man 2 Legend Of The Grandmaster (2010) is the sequel to the 2008 Ip Man film which centers on Ip Man’s migration to Hong Kong in 1949 and his attempts to open a school to promote his discipline of Wing Chun martial arts. He not only must battle with other martial artists who are being forced, by corrupt Hong Kong police, to collect protection money from martial arts schools, but he is informed that before he can open a martial arts school, he must attend a special fighting ceremony where he must take part in organized fights that will test his martial artist skills.
Ip Man 2 premiered in Beijing on April 21, 2010 and was released in Hong Kong on April 29, 2010. The movie was released in the United States on January 28, 2011.
