Carl Scott Has Passed Away

Senior Grand Master Carl Ray Scott was the Founder of Warrior Method Martial Arts and one of the original Chief Instructors of the BKF for several decades

Beyond the dojo, Sr. GM Scott graced the silver screen in more than a few martial arts movies, bringing martial arts culture to audiences worldwide and inspiring generations of practitioners.

As an actor, Carl Scott was known for his appearances in Bruce Lee: The Man, the Myth (1976), Sun Dragon (1979)Shou zhi ao chu (1981) and Soul Brothers of Kung Fu (1977).

Bruce Lee: The Man, the Myth (1976) was Carl Scotts first film where he worked as an extra. In Soul Brothers of Kung Fu (1977), also known as “Last Strike,” he played the character Tom. In Kung Fu Executioner (1981), also known as “Shou zhi ao chu,” he played the character Donny. In A Hard Way to Die (1979), also known as “Sun Dragon”, he played the character Tommy, and in the film he fought against 1979 World Kickboxing Champion Louis Neglia.

Senior Grand Master Carl Ray Scott passed away on May 29, 2005 in Los Angeles, California.

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the homegoing of a beloved teacher, mentor, and martial arts pioneer, Senior Grand Master Carl Ray Scott.

Sr. GM Scott leaves behind an extraordinary legacy as the visionary Creator and Founder of Warrior Method Martial Arts, where he transformed countless lives through his dedication to the martial arts. His innovative approach and unwavering commitment to excellence shaped not only a martial arts system, but a community of warriors who carry forward his teachings.

His impact extended far beyond techniques and forms—he was a teacher who instilled discipline, respect, honor, and the warrior spirit in all who had the privilege of learning from him. His wisdom, guidance, and example will continue to live on through every student he touched and every life he transformed.

Sr. GM Carl Ray Scott’s BKF and Warrior Method legacy is eternal, and his warrior spirit will forever guide us on.
