Dan Severn

Martial artist, actor, and producer, Dan “The Beast” Severn was born on June 8, 1958 in Coldwater, Michigan. He is a legend in amateur and professional wrestling as well as in martial arts. He excelled in wrestling in both high school and college. A winner of over 500 amateur victories and numerous titles, he was an alternate on the USA Olympic Wrestling team. Severn turned to professional Wrestling and captured the National Wrestling Alliance World Heavyweight Title; a title which he held for 10 years. In the early 1990s, he entered the world of Mixed Martial Arts. He excelled, winning numerous world championships. Severn defeated such greats as Ken Shamrock, Conan Silvera, David Abbott, Oleg Taktarov, Anthony Macias, and Bart Vale. His mixed martial arts record is 77-11-7. He is a noted barnstormer and has been defeating opponents on a monthly basis for the past three years.

Dan Severn has starred in various movies and television series. He began his career in entertainment when he played a football player in Director David Anspaugh’s spots drama film Rudy (1993).

Severn then appeared in two episodes of Nash Bridges in 1998 and 1999.

In 2005, he played a police captain in Swamp Zombies, an action/horror film directed by Len Kabasinski.

Severn acted as an applicant for Director Clenet Verdi-Rose’s movie Minor League: A Football Story (2010), about a struggling minor league football team who get a coach, who helps turn the team around.

Dan Severn played as “The Beast” in the action movie called Kill Factor (2010) directed and written by Leo Fong. The movie is about a detective on the track of a serial killer in L.A.

Severn played himself in Tetherball: The Movie (2010) directed by Chris Nickin, about three friends who decide to start a tetherball league and wind up becoming amateur athletes who have more booze, babes, and balls than they can handle.

In 2012, Severn playing the character, Coach Winters, in the amateur wrestling movie Win by Fall (2012) directed by Chris Nickin. The movie is about Scott Reynolds who is the state’s best 152 pound wrestler. Ryan, the team’s 171 pound varsity wrestler, breaks his leg and Coach Winters moves Scott up to the 171 pound division. If Scott wants to go to college, he needs a scholarship. If he wants a scholarship, he must win!

Severn plays the role of a police officer in College Fright Night (2014), wa comedy/horror movie directed by Brad Leo Lyon.

In 2016, Severn acted as a referee in Beyond the Game (2016), an action movie directed by Erken Ialgashev and written by J. Stephen Maunder and David Mitchell. The film is about contestants in a reality show who discover that they have to fight one another to survive.

Dan Severn starred as the character Rich Chandler in The Fight Within (2016), which is a sport/action/romance movie directed by Michael William Gordon. The movie is based on the life of Logan Chandler, an MMA fighter who seeks to overcome a troubled past and build a new life based on a new faith and a new found love, but is forced back into the fighting world by Hayden Dressler, a local MMA professional.
